The TNY263G is an offline switcher power integrated circuit (PMIC) designed for efficient operation using any universal input voltage. It is designed to be able to handle the universal AC input voltage range from 100 V to 305 V while providing a regulated output voltage and current. The output voltage can be selected between 9.6 V and 24 V with a power rating up to 6 W. Working Principle

The TNY263G uses a primary-side regulation control scheme to regulate the output voltage and current. In addition, it uses active-clamp reset winding technology to reduce the power losses, improve the transient response, and allows for operating in the zero-voltage-switching boundary.The TNY263G incorporates a voltage reference, current limit operational amplifier, under-voltage protection, over-voltage protection, over-current protection, and output overvoltage protection as a protective feature. It also contains a Flyback control circuit to regulate the output voltage and current within an acceptable range, as well as reducing flux-switching losses and improving the electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise performance. In addition, it has a pulse frequency modulation (PFM) built in to reduce the power consumption during light and no-load applications. To ensure the converter’s safe operation, a line monitoring function and a thermal shutdown circuit are also provided.
