The VIPER06XS is a member of the VIPer series of off-line meshed led switching regulators (MSRs) developed by STMicroelectronics specifically for SMPS applications and LED driving systems. It is a multi-channel, self-biased and single-stage regulator IC which combines a high frequency current-mode PWM controller with a power stage of external power MOSFETs. It is the only MSR IC with up to five external MOSFETs and up to five current channels, making it suitable for applications requiring complex current configurations.
The VIPER06XS is designed to operate as both an AC/DC (ac-dc) converter or as an offline switcher. It has the capability to drive multiple LED strings or LED backlighting systems up to 750mA and to drive inductive loads up to 2A.
