The VIPER25HN is a high-performance, off-line switching, voltage mode PWM current-fed DC-to-DC converter suitable for power supplies in the industrial and consumer markets. The device comprises very low switching losses in the voltage mode PWM control loop (MMOV) and a very high efficiency power stage (DMOV). It can be used in applications such as lighting and telecommunication, automotive and consumer applications as well as in a variety of other applications.The VIPER25HN has a wide input voltage range of 4.00V to 76.00V, enabling high-efficiency operation at up to 76V input. This device is designed to be used in a wide range of applications, and it is compliant with the following standards: BS EN 61000-3-2, EN 55022 and EN 55024. The VIPER25HN employs a novel and innovative PWM control architecture. This architecture results in lowest possible chip size for low side power and control, compared to classical current mode control architectures. The unique feature of the VIPER25HN is that it is based on a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) with PWM regeneration technology, providing the user with the superior performance of a current mode control system, but with the ease of use and flexibility of a voltage mode control system. The VIPER25HN is provided with a wide range of protection features. This includes undervoltage lockout (UVLO), peak current limit, overvoltage protection (OVP) and undervoltage protection (UVP).In addition to these features, the VIPER25HN also offers a comprehensive user configurable protection set. This allows the user to modify the OVP and UVP thresholds to suit their specific application requirements. It also offers the ability to reduce the drop-out voltage of the PWM generator, providing a superior standby efficiency.The VIPER25HN also features programmable output voltage and current limit settings. This allows the user to optimize the converter\'s performance by setting the desired output voltage and current levels. The device also includes temperature monitoring and protection, enabling protection against thermal runaway.The device includes various other features such as a zero loading start-up, allowing the converter to start efficiently from no load. It also provides a wide range of EMC immunity, making the device well-suited for industrial applications.
