VIPER06XSTR is a series of high performance isolated Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) integrated circuits specifically designed to address the needs of offline ACDC applications such as lighting, power supplies, motor speed control, and other Industrial applications. Working Principle

VIPER06XSTR works by generating a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal and using it to switch between power supply source and load. Two signals control this process: a clock signal (CLK) acts as a timing signal, and a signal from a power supply circuit, referred to as a duty rate signal, is used to control the duty cycle of the PWM signal. The duty rate signal determines the duty cycle, which is the ratio between the amount of time the signal is “on” and the amount of time it is “off”. This duty cycle is directly related to the output voltage, so it is necessary to adjust the duty rate signal to provide the desired voltage. The frequency of the PWM signal is adjusted using an external resistor, allowing the user to vary it from 10 kHz up to 700 kHz.
