Working Principle

VIPER38HDTR operates in the buck-boost mode, where the output voltage is freely adjustable between 4.5 and 50V with just a few external components. During the buck operation, the two main MOSFETs reverse the current flow from the input source and the energy stored in the coupled inductor is used to provide the output voltage. In the buck-boost mode, the mains voltage is converted either to a higher or a lower voltage.

The device includes protected features such as Input overvoltage (OVP), Thermal shutdown (TSD), and an adjustable Over Current Protection (OCP).
