X5325P-2.7 Application Field and Working PrinciplePMIC - Supervisors are an essential part of modern power delivery systems for a variety of applications, from embedded systems and consumer electronics to industrial automation and high-end telecommunications equipment. Of all the PMICs currently available on the market, X5325P-2.7 represents one of the most interesting solutions for a variety of scenarios. This application note thus aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the potential uses and working principle of the X5325P-2.7 PMIC.The X5325P-2.7 PMIC is a special purpose supervisor IC that is designed to monitor the voltage levels in an electronic system. It is suitable for systems ranging from low-power, single-chip applications to large-scale systems with high-power components. This PMIC is also suitable for applications such as automotive systems and industrial monitoring systems. The X5325P-2.7 can be used to monitor a single voltage level, or multiple voltage levels, depending on the application.The X5325P-2.7 features a wide operating voltage range, from 2.5V to 18V, and a low-power standby mode for reduced power consumption. It is also able to provide a high-impedance monitoring path and adaptive voltage thresholds of up to 12V. Additionally, the X5325P-2.7 has a wide temperature range of -50°C to +125°C.The X5325P-2.7 PMIC is configured to monitor an input voltage with an adjustable threshold. This can be set to activate when the voltage drops below or exceeds the specified threshold. The X5325P-2.7 PMIC also features a detection delay, allowing for hysteresis that ensures the output remains stable even when the input voltage levels are fluctuating.When the X5325P-2.7 is used to monitor a single voltage, the device will actively monitor and compare the input voltage against its preset threshold. When the input voltage drops below the threshold voltage, the X5325P-2.7 PMIC will generate an active-low “RESET” signal that can be used to reset the system. The active low “RESET” signal can also be used to permit periodic cycling of the system to ensure correct operation.In a multi-voltage system, the X5325P-2.7 PMIC can be used to monitor two or more different input voltages. The X5325P-2.7 PMIC will monitor each of the different voltages and generate a “RESET” signal if any of them drop below their respective thresholds. In such a setup, the X5325P-2.7 is most often connected to two or more different voltage sources, with the output (“RESET” signal) wire connected to all components.Finally, the X5325P-2.7 PMIC is also equipped with an open-drain WOR (watchdog output reset) pin. This pin can be used to reset the system if the input voltage is not received for a specified time period. This allows for periodic cycling of the system to ensure correct operation.In summary, the X5325P-2.7 PMIC is a versatile and reliable component for supervisory applications in a variety of industries and scenarios.
