Working Principle
The ADIS16227/PCBZ utilizes a three-axis MEMS accelerometer and gyroscope to measure linear acceleration along three axes, as well as angular rates around those same axes. The IMU also includes a barometer and temperature sensor to measure atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature. The MEMS accelerometer and gyroscope are designed to measure acceleration and angular rate with high sensitivity and dynamic range. With an ultra-low-profile package, the MEMS accelerometer and gyroscope offer state-of-the-art performance in small spaces, and can be used in the most demanding aerospace, automotive, and industrial applications. The digital temperature sensor and barometer are designed to measure atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature, which can be used for dynamic temperature compensation and altitude correction. All digital signals from the accelerometer and gyroscope are collected, sampled, filtered, and processed through a 24-bit delta-sigma digital-to-analog converter (DAC). This allows for a wide range of applications, including geographical positioning, attitude determination, navigation, motion analysis, and vehicle control. The DAC also supports a nine-axis heading output, enabling the integration of navigation systems into single application boards. The ADIS16227/PCBZ also includes additional features such as a low-power mode and configurable filters for extended battery life.
