AOI423 is a single N-Channel MOSFET in an isolated mounting tab TO-252AA package with a low RDS(on) and fast switching speeds, making it suitable for a variety of industrial and consumer applications. AOI423 is an enhancement mode MOSFET, which means the FET is off when the gate-source voltage is below the threshold voltage. With the gate at the threshold voltage, the FET will be partially on and increasing the gate voltage will increase the drain current.
The AOI423 application field includes motor control, converter, power supply, switch mode power supply, switching regulator, and LED lighting. Generally, driving an electric motor with a MOSFET instead of mechanical switches allows for improved control and efficiency. In power converters, the MOSFET helps to increase power density, reduce power loss and regulate power output. For lighting, MOSFETs are used to control the output of LEDs.
