The CPH3101-TL-E is a high-performance, high-reliability, NPN medium-power, high-speed bipolar transistor. It has a maximum collector-emitter voltage of 45V and a collector current of 1 A. It is designed for audio frequency, medium-power amplifier applications, linear and switch mode regulated power supplies, and line switching. The CPH3101-TL-E is ideal for low noise applications and has a reverse transfer capacitance of 1.5 pF.The CPH3101-TL-E is a single bipolar junction transistor (BJT). It is a three-terminal device consisting of an emitter, collector, and base. The emitter is the output of the device and is connected to low impedance circuitry, enabling current to flow into the device. The collector is connected to a high impedance circuit, which allows current to flow out of the device. The base of the BJT serves as the input. A small current applied to the base can control a large current from the collector to the emitter. This is the basic operation of a BJT.
The CPH3101-TL-E is a NPN transistor, which means that the base is negative. When the base is negative, the transistor will be in the cutoff region, and so no current will flow from collector to emitter. However, when a small positive voltage is applied to the base, the transistor will be in the active region and a small current from collector to emitter will flow. The current is amplified because the collector current is much larger than the base current. This is how the power transistor functions and works.
