FDS2070N7 is a product of Fairchild Semiconductor and is a part of the FDSxx70 family of N-Channel Enhancement Mode Field Effect Transistors (EnhFETs). It is a single device that includes a 2-channel N-MOSFET (2N7002A) and a driver design which is optimized for various applications where paraticularly low-current switching is used. The device is designed to provide both an on/off signal and an output that is suitable for various control tasks, such as driving relays, solenoids and motors or powering LED’s.

The FDS2070N7 is a common source FET (Field Effect Transistor) circuit. This is accomplished by its internal 2N7002A N-MOSFET and its accompanying current driver circuit. The 2N7002A FET is a depletion mode N-MOSFET with an on-resistance (RDS) that is typically less than 40 ohms at a VGS of 4.5V. It is also particularly efficient, using up to 90 percent less power than bipolar transistors. The current driver circuit provides a minimum current limit of 7 mA at the drain terminal for adequate protection of the device and an additional current limit of 5 mA which is the effective limit for the 2N7002A. The current driver circuit also offers a control input that allows the desired output current to be dynamically adjusted.

The FDS2070N7 has several potential applications. It is suitable for use wherever low-current switching is required; such as in battery-powered equipment, automotive and industrial applications. FDS2070N7 can be used to drive relays, solenoids and motors. Additionally, it can be used to power LED’s, which require more precise current control and optimal efficiency. The FDS2070N7 offers the perfect combination of low-current switching and precise current control for LED driving applications. In addition, due to its additional input control and high switching speed, it can also be used for Power Over Ethernet (PoE) applications.

The FDS2070N7 circuit is composed of a 2N7002A N-MOSFET and a current driver circuit. The 2N7002A is a depletion mode N-MOSFET with an RDS of typically less than 40 ohms at 4.5V. The current driver circuit is designed with a minimum current limit of 7 mA and a control input to adjust the output current dynamically. The FDS2070N7 circuit provides an on/off signal and is optimized for low-current switching. In addition, the device can be used to drive relays, solenoids and motors or power LED’s and can even be used in PoE applications.
