FM25V02A-G is a high performance, low power Serial Flash memory device that has been designed to offer a combination of high speed, low power consumption and low cost. It is created with a nonvolatile memory technology that allows it to store and recall data even after power is removed from the device. The memory size of this device is 2Mbit, which is expandable up to 128Mbit. It is popularly used in various applications, such as in networking, industrial, automotive and consumer electronic products. The high reliability, long life, and cost-efficiencies of the memory make it a highly preferred choice for these applications.
The FM25V02A-G offers fast read and program operations. It also has enhanced external data protection. The device is capable of controlling data during transmission and stores the data with 128-byte per page. The device also has write protection and data integrity protection with error correction code (ECC). The device also has four different operating voltages that are 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V.
The device has two distinct operating modes. The first mode is the standard operating mode that provides a typical 800 kHz clock frequency for repeated single byte in-system programming and random single byte in-system programming. The second mode is the fast programming mode that provides a typical 1 MHz clock frequency for multi-byte in-system programming, page in-system programming, and page programming from external sources.
The FM25V02A-G is equipped with a high-speed SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) that allows its user to access the memory with a fast data transfer rate. The device has a standard SPI command set with four instruction sets, that include Read, Program, Write, and Erase. Another great feature of this device is its self-timed write operations that do not require external write timing. This feature further reduces power consumption and programming time.
The device also has protection features that protect it from any unexceptional conditions, such as voltage outages and power cycles. These features include an enhanced power-down purge that helps in resetting the registers and FIFOs, as well as CRC checksum protection. Furthermore, write protection prevents accidental write operations that might damage the data.
The FM25V02A-G is built with a robust power management that helps in reducing system power. Its fast programming using its dual-panel voltages helps to reduce system power by up to 2% compared to conventional processes. The device comes with an additional 7Pad ESD connector for enhanced protection. Its integrated 8-bit cyclic redundancy code (CRC) and electron beam fuse lock allow the device to detect and alert the user of any accidental write operations.
The FM25V02A-G is ideal for applications where data is frequently updated or rewritable, such as in payment systems, access control systems, and identification devices. The device is available in two packages, which include a WSON8-P3 and WLBGA-16 package. The WLBGA-16 package further provides higher density and performance compared to the WSON8-P3.
