The IR21363SPBF is a type of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) gate driver from International Rectifier (IR). It features an integrated driver profile of two high-side and two low-side driving channels, enabling multiple PWM switching pulses for medium- to high-current applications. The IR21363SPBF has been designed to reliably drive highside, low-side and floating N-channel MOSFETs and IGBTs. It is available in two package versions: a 8-Pin SOIC (208 mil) and a 8-Pin DIP packages.

During the precharge phase, the gate of the device is driven to the precharge voltage; when the voltage reaches the precharge voltage, the control logic begins the commutation phase. During this phase, the gate is driven to turn on the device and the output current flows through the device. Finally, during the postcharge phase, the gate is driven to a low voltage to turn off the device.

The output voltage is then measured and compared to the precharge voltage. If there is a mismatch between the two values, the gate will be driven to the precharge voltage again. This closed-loop process ensures that the device is being driven correctly, ensuring the desired output and maximum efficiency. Alongside its drive capabilities, the IR21363SPBF includes short circuit protection, over-temperature protection, and over-current protection.
