IRDC3822 is a high efficiency, high power density, non-isolated DC/DC & AC/DC SMPS evaluation boards from Infineon. The evaluation board is suitable for a wide range of applications, including home appliances, industrial & automation and automotive which can meet the constantly growing need for smaller, lighter and more efficient power applications. This evaluation board requires only a primary ac/dc power source and can deliver up to 100W output power with a wide range of input voltages.
The IRDC3822 can operate from a wide range of input voltages, such as 12V to 48V (ac/dc) or up to 75V (dc). The evaluation board is designed to work in either a continuous or discontinuous conduction mode in order to make the most efficient use of its input power, and it also has a wide range of output voltages and currents, making it a highly versatile DC/DC converter. The evaluation board also provides protection features such as over-voltage protection (OVP), over-temperature protection (OTP), short-circuit protection (SCP), and under-voltage lock-out (UVLO).
The IRDC3822 evaluation board is designed to operate in a buck or boost topology. In the buck topology, the output voltage is lower than the input voltage and the conversion efficiency is maximized when the load is high. In the boost topology, the output voltage is higher than the input voltage and the conversion efficiency is maximized when the load is low. The IRDC3822 also has the ability to step-up or step-down the output voltage without significant losses, making it a highly efficient DC/DC regulator.
