IRDC3843A is a family of small-sized, cost-effective switching power supply regulation ICs, suitable for off-line AC/DC and DC/DC switching supplies. Its application field and working principle can be used in various energy-saving products, such as television sets, personal computer systems, printer systems, peripheral devices, and power adapters.
The IC has built-in start-up function, normal operation function, temperature protection, current limit, fold back protection, thermal shutdown protection, and output overvoltage protection. Its internal structure conforms to the international low-voltage power supply standard IEC60950. It has the functions of high voltage shutdown, undervoltage lockout, overload protection, and overload trip-off.
The IRDC3843A operates with a fixed frequency current-mode control scheme that operates over a range of frequencies from 200KHz to 2.5Mhz. The output voltage regulation accuracy is ± 2%. Its wide operating input voltage range of 4.5~20V makes it ideal for global applications. Its output voltage range is 0.395V~20V, and it excels in efficiency ratings making it very energy-efficient and suitable for a variety of applications.
The IRDC3843A features a high-side P-Channel MOSFET for output voltage regulation and features a low power start-up scheme that reduces current consumption from the power source. The IC also has an under-voltage lockout function that limits output to protect the power source. It has a built-in frequency transformer with the ability to function as a frequency synchronization device and provide constant frequency performance even when the input voltage fluctuates.
