It is an integrated Hall effect IC, composed of both an integrated magnetometer as well as a Hall effect switch.The magnetometer features a three-axis, high accuracy, trilinear sensor that measures the strength of a magnetic field in the X, Y, and Z plane. The integrated Hall effect switch senses when the field strength has risen above a selectable threshold to trigger an internal interrupt and generate a digital event.Once the MFD IC encounters a magnetic field event, the trace of the transition is recorded and interpreted accordingly. The data is then converted into digital form and can be read by the processor.The SI7211-B-00-IVR also incorporates a proprietary thermal compensation process which ensures that the device soon resolves any offset changes caused by fluctuations in either the supply voltage or external temperatures. In addition, the SI7211-B-00-IVR also features an Integrated Chip Quadrature Oscillator which ensures a low jitter output, allowing for accurate angle calculations, as needed in robotic systems, automotive navigation, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.Finally, the SI7211-B-00-IVR also features a wide power supply range, making it suitable for both low-voltage and high-voltage applications.
