The TSM1014IDT is a three-charging stage smart battery charger which offers the latest technologies for portable equipment power management.

The first charging stage is Constant-Current/Constant-Voltage (CC/CV) regulation, which charges the battery quickly with a constant current during the first stage, and ramps down to a constant voltage for the remainder of the charging period to ensure the cell does not overcharge.

The second charging stage is known as the Maintenance stage, which assists the battery to maintain its charge in extended periods without overcharging the cell. This stage is typically referred to as a trickle charge and is very useful in preventing self-discharge of the Lithium-ion battery when not in use.

The third stage of the charging process is known as the conditioning stage, which can extend the life of a rechargeable battery by using a brief current boost, followed by a rest period, to restore the battery’s performance to its peak. This stage is designed specifically for Nickel-Cadmium and Nickel-Metal-Hydride batteries to restore performance, prolong service life, and maintain peak energy.

The TSM1014IDT includes several features to improve overall performance and maximize battery lifetime. A power source selection feature is built-in, allowing the device to switch between an AC adapter or USB charger, allowing the user to use whichever is most convenient.
