Working Principle

The working principle of the 2N6041 transistor is based on the principle of forward biased base-emitter junction. When connected to an electric source, electrons will flow from emitter to the base junction, making it act as an electric diode. The electrons will then fasten with the holes and travel towards collector, where they will rapidly move back.

The base current of the transistor is controlled by the base current, meaning that a small current can control a more powerful current. A small change in the base current results in a large change in collector current. Therefore, by changing theBase current, the collector current is modulated, allowing complex electronic circuits to be formed.

When operating in the cut-off region, no bias is applied to the input. This means that the current flow from the collector is zero. In the active region, a small reverse bias is applied to the base-emitter junction, and thus a small current flows from collector to the emitter. In the saturation region, the base is kept at the same potential as the collector and a large amount of electrons flow from the collector to the emitter.
