Working Principle of 2N6071BG

A TRIAC is a three terminal device, usually containing a positive and a negative terminal, and a control terminal. When a current is applied to the control terminal, it triggers the TRIAC into conduction and current flows through the two main terminals. The 2N6071BG is a TRIAC that uses a zero gate trigger current and requires very low gate current to trigger on. This device is triggered with two different gate voltages; a negative voltage to trigger off and a positive voltage to trigger on.
