Introduction:The 2SC5707-E is a single bipolar junction transistor (BJT) designed for switching and linear amplification applications. It features an excellent high DC current gain (hFE) of 350, low saturation voltage of 0.4V when switched in saturated mode and a high average current capability of 300mA. 2SC5707-E is well suited for high-side switching and pre-driver applications. It provides a robust, low eprom consumption solution for analog signal processing and other general-purpose applications.Overview:2SC5707-E is a single NPN transistor manufactured using a planar pi-network process. It is a symmetric, high-speed, excellent linearity and low saturation voltage device. The device is rated at 45V with a total power dissipation of 250mW, an operating temperature range of -50C to +150C and a collector-emitter saturation voltage of 0.4V when switched in saturated mode.It features a high switching speed of 225us and a high DC current gain (hFE) of 350. It can work with a wide range of low-side switching voltages from 2V to 7V and a high-side switching voltage of up to 12V. It is well suited for use in high-side switching and pre-driver applications.Working Principle:The 2SC5707-E consists of one NPN transistor with a base, a collector and an emitter. The base serves as the control and input of the transistor and is biased with a voltage supply, while the collector and emitter serve as the output pins.At low voltage, the collector to emitter voltage (Vce) is over 1V and thus, the transistor is in the active region. When the input voltage is increased, the base current increases, causing the emitter current to rise which in turn causes the Vce to drop. When the Vce drops below the cutoff voltage, the transistor becomes fully off and enters the cutoff region.In saturated mode, the transistor is in a fully on state, which means the Vce is, ideally, 0V. In this region, the current from the collector to the emitter, Icesat, is greatest as the transistor is at a maximum conducting state.Applications:2SC5707-E is suitable for many applications, such as audio amplifiers, filters, voltage regulators, motor drivers, switching supplies and many other circuits requiring high speed, low switching losses and very low saturation voltage operation.2SC5707-E is also an excellent choice for use in DC/DC converters, high voltage diode bridges and other high-side and low side switching applications. Its high speed and low saturation voltage allows it to switch rapidly with minimal power loss and noise.2SC5707-E is also well suited for use in pre-driver applications, such as in power supply generators, low end amplifier circuits, audio pre-amplifiers and RF amplifiers.
