The 2SD2082 is an epitaxial planar type silicon PNP transistor which has excellent saturation properties of a high-current switching for high frequency amplification, and also suitable for a low-frequency driver stage application.

It is a three-terminal device composed of two N type emitter regions and one P type base region. It is mainly used in a complementary pair circuit, and it utilizes its connection in a P-channel and N-channel transistor alike, even though the actual internal construction of the two are vastly different.

This type of transistor is a bipolar junction transistor (BJT) and is classified further under the category of single transistors. As its name implies, it utilizes two junctions which are commonly known as the emitter-base junction and the collector-base junction.
