2SD235800A is a NPN silicon epitaxial planar transistors, housed in a molded plastic package and designed for use in low frequency amplifier, low speed motor-driver control, non-saturation detection, switching circuits, etc.

The 2SD235800A comprises of three layers of semiconductor material which are controlled to create an amplifying current flow. These layers, from the outer to the inner, are the emitter, base, and collector. In NPN transistors the collector remains at a higher potential (positive voltage) than the emitter.

As the base-emitter junction is forward biased, current flows from the collector to the emitter. This in-turn carries positive charge from the collector to the emitter thus creating an amplified current known as Beta. Hence, a change in Base current will cause a corresponding change in Emitter current.
