The ALD110914SAL is a high-performance low-power logic array family of complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) devices, particularly suitable for medium and high speed digital logic application. This series of CMOS FETs is unique in that they provide a wide range of functions compared to traditional circuits, including regular combinational and sequential logic, bus interfaces, memory devices, and so forth. They are also known as “Array Logic Devices” (ALD) due to their ability to incorporate multiple logic functions within one package. It is designed for logic applications requiring medium-high density and medium-high performance. It is intended for new or upgraded systems running moderately complex software applications. The ALD110914SAL family has three elements; a four-stage logic array, flip-flops, and a multiplexer/demultiplexer. Each element can be used together or independently as required. The ALD110914SAL logic array is capable of implementing 94 functions in a single device. In the logic array, the signal levels are shifted in stages, with the levels shifted opposite each other. This process is referred to as a “cross-coupled” configuration, which helps reduce signal noise due to ground bounce. The ALD110914SAL also features two selectable bus widths, 8 and 16, to accommodate single-bit or multiple-bit processing. This is especially useful for data or address tracking, or for controlling multiplexers.
The ALD110914SAL also features a built-in flip-flop that provides additional storage capability and processing speed. In typical applications, the flip-flop can be used to store data or address bits, or to serve as a latch in a shift register.
