AO4268 is a single N-channel MOSFET with a low on-state resistance. It is widely used in a variety of electronic application fields, such as power supplies, motor drives, lighting, and electronic circuits for automotive, telecom and consumer products. The name of AO4268 consists of two parts, AO and 4268. AO refers to Alpha and Omega, meaning the beginning and the end of the alphabet. 4268 is just its U.S. part number assigned to it. This model is supplemental to the product line of Alpha and Omega.

The AO4268 is widely used in a variety of applications due to its efficient switching performance and low on-state resistance of 4.8mOhm @Vgs = 2.5V at Tj = 25℃. It is also one of the most widely used power MOSFETs available today. With its extremely low on-state resistance and fast switching speed, the AO4268 is suitable for high frequency operation and very fast switching. Moreover, its low on-state resistance results in minimal conduction losses and extremely efficient operation.

The AO4268 is a single N-channel MOSFET which usually operates in the depletion mode. It is constructed from a P-type substrate with an N-type well in the middle of the board, surrounded by following electrodes: Source, Drain, Gate and Body. Like all MOSFETs, the AO4268 operates on the principle that when a voltage difference is applied across the Gate and Source terminals, a corresponding electrical field is created in the substrate. This electric field is then used to attract charge carriers (electrons or holes) to the surface of the Gate where they can be used as flow of current.

At low drain-source voltage, the AO4268 has an ultrathin gate oxide, so that very low gate-source voltages (Vgs) are employed to induce the junction, resulting in a low threshold voltage, the main feature that makes this device efficient and cost-effective. Its wide range of gate-source voltage (Vgs) range (−2 V to +2 V) allows for a wide array of applications, including voltage control, noise reduction, analog signal processing, etc. Additionally, the AO4268 also has a maximum drain-sourceVds voltage of 40 V and are fully-functional up to 175°C.
