AOB482L is a Field-Effect Transistor (FET) which belongs to the single gate family. It is a low-current, high-speed and low-power consuming device that has gained fame in the industry due to its features and performance. It has very small die size that makes it suitable to be used in the applications with limited space. AOB482L is a positive-channel enhancement mode MOSFET that has high transconductance, low output capacitance, low on-state resistance and wide voltage range. It is primarily used in the high frequency circuits like low loss switches, modulators, low and medium power amplifiers, etc.

Working Principle of AOB482L

The working of AOB482L can be easily understood if we compare it with a water valve to regulate water flow. The gate terminal is analogous to the handle of the water valve and the source and drain terminals are analogous to the inlet and outlet of the water valve. When the handle of the water valve is turned on by a force, the water will start to flow from the inlet to the outlet. Similarly in AOB482L, if a voltage is applied to the gate terminal, the current will start to flow from the source to the drain terminal.The transfer characteristics of the AOB482L depend on the output voltage applied to its gate terminal. If the output voltage applied to the gate terminal is increased, the channel of the device gets wider and the current flow is increased. The converse happens if the output voltage is decreased. This is due the the property of the MOSFET (metal oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor) which is that, the current flowing through it is controlled by the gate voltage.The operating voltage range of the AOB482L depends on the application in which it is being used. Normally, it can handle output voltages ranging from -6 volts to +6 volts. The output current can be increased up to a maximum of 41.6 Amperes by increasing the gate voltage. It has a divide-by-four switch that allows four channels to be connected in parallel.
