AON4807 is a state-of-the-art, 80V high-voltage, low-voltage depletion CMOS transistor array. It offers a wide range of voltage and temperature-compensated performance for applications in the automotive, industrial, aerospace, and medical industries. The device is built on a 0.35μm feature size process, making it the smallest, simplest and highest performance high-voltage, low-voltage depletion transistor array available today.

The AON4807 transistor array is designed to provide a logic interface between higher voltage systems and logic gates operating at lower voltage levels. Its low-voltage depletion transistor arrays work as a voltage selectable voltage translation/switch element. Its special design with an on-chip power reference circuit ensures that the gate voltage of the transistors can be triggered by lower voltage logic level signals, while at the same time allowing them to operate at higher voltages that can be sourced from the system power supply. Its high-voltage capability makes it suitable for high-reliability and high-voltage operations.

AON4807 can be used for a variety of applications such as:

  • Power supply sequencers, voltage monitors, and voltage reference point management.
  • Providing voltage level translation between low-voltage and high-voltage logic signals.
  • AHSL generators, high-power RF modules, motor and motor-controller modules.
  • DC-DC converter control.
  • Aerospace and military applications which require low-power, high-reliability, low-voltage depletion transistor arrays.

The working principle of AON4807 is quite simple and is based on the principle of charge-sharing in CMOS technology. When the gate voltage of the transistor is above the cascode voltage, it enters a low-voltage depletion mode. This allows the transistor to be used as a switch or voltage translator. When the gate voltage is below the cascode voltage, the depletion region of the transistor is not completely depleted and thus it can still be used to provide voltage level shifting between two different voltage sources. Since AON4807 has multiple transistors in cascade, multiple voltage levels can be generated.

In addition, AON4807 also has a variable supply voltage range of 2.5V to 20V, and can operate over a wide temperature range from -40°C to 125°C. The device also features a current limit of up to 10mA per channel, which is suitable for automotive applications. AON4807 also has a very low on-state resistance of 2Ω and can handle up to 60V reverse gate-source bias.
