The AUIR2085S is an integrated gate driver IC specially designed for driving power MOSFETs, IGBTs and other high voltage/high current to provide power conversion applications. The AUIR2085S integrates all the features into a small form factor, making it ideally suited for a wide range of applications, such as LED lighting, DC/DC/AC and solar power converters, and motor control.

Application Field

The AUIR2085S is designed to reduce the complexity and the cost of conventional gate driver circuitry when driving power MOSFETs, IGBTs and other high voltage/high current switching devices. Its integrated design provides a complete solution, eliminating around 9 external components, providing designers with the following benefits:

Working Principle

The AUIR2085S integrates two gate driver channels that can be used to drive two high-side or one high-side and one low-side MOSFETs. Each channel features independent enable, shutdown, and power-good pins. The gate driver features a 1.8A peak source and a 1.1A peak sink current capability. The enable inputs, EN1 and EN2, are active-high and active-low. Both drivers feature programmable dead time, to eliminate switching noise, and remote On/Off capability. The gate driver features a wide operating range of 4.5V to 20V, making it compatible with a wide array of gate drive requirements.

The AUIR2085S also has a soft start feature, which eliminates the need for an external resistor and transistor. This feature provides a constant gate current ramp, reducing the initial inrush current and ensuring a reliable startup. Additionally, it features a fault latch with under voltage lockout, current-limit protection, and over temperature protection.

The AUIR2085S is offered in a space-saving 5.6 mm × 4.5 mm TQFN package, ensuring a high degree of integration, reducing the need for additional components, and has a low power consumption of typically 100 µA.

As a result, the AUIR2085S is an ideal solution for a wide variety of high power conversion applications where size and efficiency are of paramount importance.
