The ISL91110IINZ-T7A is a monolithic, multifunction power management IC designed to provide a complete power subsystem for battery-powered, portable systems. This integrated REGulator (REGe) device contains a highly efficient switch-mode step-down DC-DC converter, LDO linear regulators, a supply sequencer with adjustable supervisory delays, two power switches, and advanced power system management and protection features. It is ideal for power management in applications such as digital still cameras, smart phones, PDAs, and other portable equipment.

The ISL91110IINZ-T7A devices contain a high-efficiency, synchronous step-down DC-DC converter with a wide input voltage range and adjustable output voltage, a low-dropout (LDO) linear-regulator output with adjustable voltage, and a versatile supply sequencer with adjustable supervisory delays. All regulators are controlled by the integrated digital interface, allowing all core operation and sequencing parameters to be programmed via a simple, serial interface. The ISL91110IINZ-T7A provides precision monitoring of multiple power supply voltages, including the DC-DC input, DC-DC output, LDO output and system battery voltages, with programmable limit thresholds for overvoltage, undervoltage, and supply fault protection.

The ISL91110IINZ-T7A provides an integrated constant-frequency, current-mode, step-down DC-DC converter with programmable switching frequency up to 2.5 MHz, allowing a high level of efficiency, even at light loads. It contains both synchronous and adaptive on-time control to minimize power losses due to switching and conduction. The output voltage can be programmably adjusted from 0.1800 V to 5.5000 V with a 0.0125 V resolution. It provides up to 3.5 amps of continuous output current and up to Its switching peak current limit is adjustable from 0.15A to 5.75A. The input voltage range is 2.7V to 5.5V.

The on-board linear-regulator output provides up to 350mA of continuous output current. The regulated output voltage is adjustable from 0.4V to 2.5V with a 0.005V resolution. The LDO has a low ground current of 1.05μA and fast transient response. It also integrates power-good and power-on reset (PoR) signals, allowing the system to be startup cleanly, and the power-good (PG) is asserted after the DC-DC output voltage is within its specified range.

The ISL91110IINZ-T7A features a supply sequencer with adjustable supervisory delays to turn on multiple supplies in a pre-defined sequence. The corresponding supervisory signals can be used to delay the turn-on of each regulator. The high-performance reset generator provides both reset timing and reset propagation delays, ensuring fast and reliable system resets. The high-bandwidth voltage monitor (Vmon) provides an analog voltage reference to monitor up to two power supplies up to the full range of the VCC supply.

The integrated overvoltage (OVP), undervoltage (UVL), and short-circuit (SCP) protections ensure the safe operation of the ISL91110IINZ-T7A in various applications. The GATE pin provides an extra layer of protection against large currents flowing through the power MOSFET. All protections are automatically reset when the fault is removed.
