IXDN504PI is classified as a PMIC - Gate Drivers. IXDN504PI is an 8-port NP/N-channel MOSFET Gate Driver that provides logic level converter, voltage boost and adjustable current limit functions. IXDN504PI is designed to work with single-ended or differential signals. Depending on the input signals, it supports 3.6 V to 36 V power supply range. This range covers all the popular powering sources like battery, unregulated adapters, and PoE. The device also comes with under voltage lockout for higher reliability and safety operations.
IXDN504PI also supports a variety of logic level inputs, including LVCMT60, LBCMT25, LVSORM30, LVTTL55, MCA55, LVILH33, LVILH33A, etc. The High/Low side drivers have a fixed 3.25 V/1.5 V threshold, that can be easily connected with any of these logic families. It translates the given high/low signals into "high-side" gate drive that is suitable for driving the gate of power MOSFETs. It has hysteresis protection against the input noise.
The IXDN504PI also comes with two boost stages for driving the high/low side drive circuits. These two stages provide controlled high and low voltage output. The high voltage level can be adjusted from +7.8 V to +15 V, and the low voltage level from -7.8 V to -15 V. The adjustable current limit feature ensures that it can supply a minimum amount of current while maintaining a high voltage output. This will help to reduce power dissipation and provide longer life span to the system.
In addition to the logic level converter, boosting and adjustable current limit features, IXDN504PI also provides over temperature protection and over current protection. When the device reaches a certain temperature, the over temperature protection will shut down the chip immediately, protecting it from permanent damage.
