LM5041EVAL/NOPB is a family of Evaluation Boards that address the development of timing and protection applications. This family of Evaluation Boards is ideally suited for researchers, engineers, and designers developing system-level designs that combine a wide range of switching regulator topologies to deliver power efficiently and reliably.

The Evaluation Boards can be used to evaluate the LM5041, a DC/DC controller tailored for offline power supplies. The LM5041 controller uses a constant-frequency-voltage-mode architecture to provide precise output voltage regulation over a wide range of operating conditions including input voltage, load current, switch node rise and fall times, switching frequency, etc. Its isolation feature allows for multiple supply voltages or different topologies such as forward converters, flyback, boost converters, etc.

The LM5041 is also capable of protecting other switching regulator components from overvoltage, over-temperature, and over-current conditions. These Evaluation Boards help simplify the development of applications with advanced switching topologies. The Analysis Suite featured with the Evaluation Boards is tailored to help evaluate the system performance in such effects as transient response, and current and voltage regulation.

The LM5041EVAL/OPB can be configured for a wide variety of input-to-output transfer characteristics, including fixed-ratio step-down and step-up, and adjustable buck, boost and buck-boost converters. The Evaluation Board includes an on-board power supply and PWM acceptance external loop components such as opto couplers, photovoltaics, feedback resistors, etc.

The Evaluation Boards come with a suite of common power supply test components, and an Analysis Suite that simulate and display the performance parameters of the LM5041. Additionally, users can quickly and easily incorporate different feedback resistors and opto couplers to customize the Evaluation Board for a variety of inner loop applications.

The LM5041EVAL/NOPB Evaluation Boards is also designed to meet the rigorous safety requirements of modern system design, delivering low-cost solutions for system-level designs. Its operating temperature range of –20 to 85°C ensures system operation in harsh environmental conditions, while its compact size makes it easy to incorporate into tight system designs.
