LM5066PMHX/NOPB Hot Swap Controller is well suited for use in a variety of applications that require the safe and efficient management of power, such as in hot pluggable systems, power supplies and servers. This device features an integrated high-voltage MOSFET, wide operating range, soft start, and a protective circuit that detects over voltage, over current, and over temperature. Integrated protection features of the device enable it to protect the user’s system from damage due to voltage surges and other power related issues.

The LM5066PMHX/NOPB Hot Swap Controller utilizes a comprehensive set of features to provide a reliable solution for hot pluggable and mission critical applications. The on-chip MOSFET can handle high voltages, up to 50V, and reduces the need for additional external components. Furthermore, the LM5066PMHX/NOPB can be set up to ensure power is applied in a controlled and safe manner by utilizing adjustable soft start and inrush current limiting. By providing tight control over power supply specification and inrush current, this device can ensure safe and reliable operation for the system in which it is implemented.

The LM5066PMHX/NOPB Hot Swap Controller also offers a wide variety of integrated protection functions allow it to detect a range of power-related issues. Its over voltage protection feature can be programmed to detect over currents up to 30A and to shut down when these conditions are exceeded. The device’s over temperature sensor can detect whenever the temperature of the system rises above the user’s desired temperature, and it can be configured to shut down the power supply when this occurs. Additionally, the device can also detect excessive inrush current and can be configured to shut down power when the inrush current exceeds a certain level.
