Power management integrated circuits (PMIC) are very important electronic components for the robust performance of many different electrical systems. One such product among them is the LM5045MH/NOPB. It is a monolithic integrated circuit from Texas Instruments and is one of the cost effective solutions for AC-DC, offline switchers.

The IC employs an innovative surge immunity topology, which allows it to operate even in severe over-voltage conditions while still maintaining required output regulation. In addition, the IC features configurable deadtime, which eliminates cross conduction and allows the use of lower cost MOSFET switches.
The LM5045MH/NOPB utilizes a Peak-Current-Mode control loop for easy system design and improved down-converter performance. It integrates high-side current sensing and slow start-up circuit to minimize the conduction losses, increase system efficiency and reduce EMI radiation. The IC also includes internal MOSFET drivers for high-side and low-side switches with integral diodes to support both synchronous and non-synchronous topologies.

It can be configured to support various switching topologies such as boost, flyback, current fed forward and transitions mode converters.
