Power Over Ethernet (PoE) Controllers are devices used to provide stable and reliable power over an Ethernet network. The device also features over current protection, over voltage protection, short-circuit protection, thermal protection, and power-limit protection. To enhance system reliability, the LM5072MH-50 has a built-in over-temperature shutdown function, which will automatically shut the device down when it is exposed to temperatures higher than its rated range. These features make the LM5072MH-50 an ideal solution for PoE applications.

The LM5072MH-50 utilizes a synchronous buck architecture to provide high efficiency, low output ripple and noise, and minimal power loss. The synchronous buck converter is designed to effectively utilize the available energy, enabling higher efficiency in a wide range of applications. It also features a high-speed MOSFET driver with current-mode loop compensation to control the switch FET duty cycles, providing enhanced system stability and reliability.
