STF5NK52ZD is a N-channel enhancement mode MOSFET (Field-Effect Transistor, Electronic Field-Effect Transistor-EFET) device, which is an extension of the metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET). The device is designed to increase the current flows (from the start voltage) through a channel. The ultra-low RDS (ON) is achieved by using the EFMOS (Enhanced Field-effect MOS) technology.

In general, a MOSFET includes gate, drain, and source terminals. By applying a voltage to the gate terminal, the source-drain current is controlled by the bi-directional flow of electrons. This dynamic feature of the MOSFET makes it convenient for use in a wide variety of applications, from low power to large power applications.

The STF5NK52ZD device exhibits an RDS (ON) of 5 mΩ, which is the lowest RDS (ON) of any N-channel enhancement mode MOSFET. This low RDS (ON) allows it to deliver a large amount of current at a very low voltage.
