They provide a very high level of isolation voltage up to 5000 Vrms, making them ideal for use in extremely noisy environments and for protecting sensitive circuit components. Transistor-photovoltaic output (TPO) optoisolators, like the TPC816S1B, provide both electrical and galvanic isolation between input and output circuits, thereby providing greater protection from electrical transients and noise.
