?UC2708NEG4 is a pulse width modulated (PWM) integrated circuit application field. Developed by Texas Instruments, UC2708NEG4 is a two-phase gate driver that is designed to drive two high-side and two low-side external power MOSFETs with voltage rating up to 80V and current rating up to 10A peak. UC2708NEG4 is ideal for an adjustable power supply, engine control, and lighting control applications. In terms of features, UC2708NEG4 offers:1. Operating voltage up to 80V and peak current rating of 10A.2. High switching frequency up to 1MHz.3. Internal power MOSFETs with output voltages of up to 48V.4. Active low OCP and active high thermal shutdown for over current protection.5. High-side N-channel gate drivers for improved on-time matching with separate PWM inputs for each phase.6. Under voltage lockout circuitry and offline diagnostics to monitor output voltage, load current, input common-mode voltage, and output common-mode voltage.7. Industrial automationWorking PrincipleThe UC2708NEG4 is a PWM integrated circuit application field with two phases, each with its own external high-side and low-side power MOSFETs. Each phase can be operated independently, with the control signals coming from separate PWM inputs. The high side drivers provide better matching of on-time when compared to single N-channel drivers, allowing for higher efficiency and higher frequency operation. The low-side drivers are designed to maximize switching speed, while also providing a low-side PWM output to keep the components in balance. UC2708NEG4 is designed to include Under Voltage Lockout (UVLO), Pre-Boot S-R Latch, Active Low OCP, and Active High Thermal Shutdown to protect the device from any faults or failures. The UVLO is designed to shut down the device if the supply voltage drops below a certain threshold level. The Pre-Boot S-R Latch is also present to latch off the gate command signals and gate drive outputs if an unexpected fault occurs.UC2708NEG4 also includes an internal diagnostic circuit to monitor the output voltage, load current, input common-mode voltage and output common mode voltage. This feature can be used to ensure that the device is performing within the manufacturer’s specifications, or to detect any potential issues with the device. The UC2708NEG4 is an efficient, cost-effective and reliable gate driver for adjustable power supply, engine control and lighting control applications, making it ideal for any system that requires reliable and efficient PWM control.
