Zener diodes, sometimes called voltage-regulating diodes, are diodes designed to regulate and limit the amount of current passing in either direction of the diode’s semiconductor junction. Specifically, the 1N6489US model of Zener diodes is a single Zener diode that takes a maximum forward current of 500mA and has a breakdown voltage of 16V when reverse biased.
