2N4126 is a bipolar junction transistor (BJT) created specifically for use with low-power media such as sound systems, CD and DVD players, and other sound systems. It is one of the newer transistor designs created by semiconductor technology leaders such as Motorola, Texas Instruments, and National Semiconductor. It is a three-terminal device. The device has a voltage in the range of 20-100 V. When it comes to maximum collector current it is 6A.
The 2N4126 transistors uses N-type and P-type materials connected together to form the bipolar junction. N-type material is by default more negative with respect to the P-type material. This junction holds two pn junctions. When a gate voltage is applied to the base terminal, the junctions behave in an opposite manner and the small current that passes through the base terminal decreases or increases the large current flow from collector to the emitter. This particular current flow is present between the collector and the emitter since these two terminals are the charge carriers of the device. When the base current is adjusted to a certain level, the collector-emitter current remains stable at that particular level.
The 2N4126 has a wide range of applications. It is suitable for audio frequency amplifiers and power switching circuits. It is usually used as a small signal transistor for general-purpose applications, such as amplifying, switching, and signal modulation. It can also be used in applications such as radio receivers, and to drive the LEDs associated with keyboards and other switches. Furthermore, it is used to drive and interface small loads such as relays, actuators, and sensors. Because of its low saturation voltage, the 2N4126 is particularly useful in controlling DC and low-frequency applications, such as lamp dimmer circuits and motor control systems.
The 2N4126 works on the principle of controlling current flow. The device acts as a passageway for current. It has three terminals, the collector, base and emitter. The base terminal is used to control the amount of current flowing from the collector to the emitter. When voltage is applied to the base terminal, the flow of current between the collector and the emitter increases. The amount of current flowing is dependent on the amount of voltage applied to the base terminal. The 2N4126 is usually used as an amplifier, since it takes a small voltage at the base terminal and amplifies it.
The 2N4126 lends its heavy-duty, low-power features to various media applications. It is a low-cost, durable small signal transistor. With a current rating of 6A and a voltage rating of 20-100 V, it is small, but powerful. Its use of N-type and P-type materials makes it useful in amplifying, switching, and signal modulation applications. In addition, it can also be used to control DC and low-frequency applications, such as lamp dimmers and motor control systems.
