2SC4135S-E, or simply the 2SC4135, is a bipolar transistor used in a variety of electronic applications. As a single-junction transistor, this device is capable of amplifying or switching electronic signals. Made of silicon, 2SC4135 transistors are often used in low and medium power applications, including audio amplifiers, power supplies and in various switch circuits.

The 2SC4135 contains three distinct terminals; the base, collector, and emitter. These terminals enable it to change the flow of current across a circuit. By decreasing or increasing the current, the transistor can act as either an amplifier or switch. With the addition of a few external components, the transistor can be used to amplify or switch audio signals as well.

The base terminal is the control terminal of the transistor commonly used to control the current flow. By altering the voltage connected to the base, the current can be increased or decreased across the other terminals of the device. When the base receives a positive voltage, current begins to flow from the collector terminal to the emitter and the transistor is said to be in its “on” state.

The collector, the second terminal, acts as the output for the transistor, taking the place of the load and supplying the current to the circuit. Additionally, the output voltage of the device is determined by the amount of current that is discharged from this terminal. The third terminal of the transistor, the emitter, serves as the input of the transistor. The current from this terminal is returned to the power source and is controlled by the base terminal.

The wide operating voltage range of 2SC4135 transistors (1V to 44V) make them suitable for a variety of applications. Several hundred of these transistors can be found on the market and their construction allows them to be used in both low and medium power applications. Consequently, they can be found in many audio amplifiers, power supplies, relay circuits and even in some switching circuits.

Since 2SC4135 transistors are not considered high power devices, they should not be used as such. When used in a circuit, the power dissipation should not exceed the specified value. Furthermore, the transistor should not be exposed to high levels of temperature for prolonged periods of time as this may cause damage to the device.
