The optically isolated counter of the APT1221WA is used to switch the output ON and OFF with a drop of voltage on the control signal. This is achieved when the device detects a voltage drop on the control signal input. When the voltage rises, the device switches the output OFF. The internal counter is programmable, allowing it to be used for counting and totalizing applications.
