Furthermore, it monitors individual cells in a battery stack in order to measure the total stack voltage and control any cell sub-balancing. It also features programmable current and voltage limiters, and digital control and logic. The product has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, and is offered in seven different package options.

The basic working principle of the DS2745U+ is that it measures the battery voltage, current and temperature in order to calculate the available capacity and the remaining.
