First, voltage monitoring assesses the initial battery capacity in the form of an estimate relative to the factory-measured capacity. This first estimate is refined by differentiating measurements of packs of cells operating simultaneously.The DS2782E+ also includes built-in ESD protection to guard against current spikes and surges. With superior EMC protection, the device is designed to meet electromagnetic radiation and susceptibility requirements as required by other external components. Its ESD and EMI protection, wide input voltage range, and low component count make the DS2782E+ ideal for use in both noisy and sensitive environments.The DS2782E+ provides protection against overcharge, overdischarge, and overcurrents, ensuring that a system’s battery is optimally managed and protected from potential damage. Additionally, the device offers temperature compensation that takes into account temperature variations to provide accurate estimates of battery capacity and remaining run-time. The DS2782E+ includes an integrated alert system to notify the application processor of conditions such as an over-temperature, an over-charge, or an over-discharge event. This alert system offers an alarm window/timer feature to help users determine whether a warning is merely one-time or represents a continually persisting alarm status. In addition, the DS2782E+ also offers many advanced features such as integrated communication interface, sleep modes, and off-time monitoring.
