PMIC gate drivers are a type of power supply management integrated circuit (PMIC) that bridges the gap between the high-level gate statements and the gate voltage supply. The 6384ED is a type of PMIC gate driver and it is specifically designed for driving high-powered, high-side MOSFETs, IGBTs and other power semiconductor devices. This driver is capable of working with higher temperatures, greater shock and vibration as well as broader operating-temperature ranges.

A logic low-side driver is also included and is used to drive an optically-isolated EFET/IGBT gate. Other interfaces and features are also included such as a disable and a fault indicator, as well as pre-charging and dead-time arrangement.
In its standard configuration, the 6384ED operates from 3.3V to 15V, and is capable of sourcing 0.7A and sinking 1.4A. It also has great noise characterization comparable to solutions from other manufacturers, and a wide temperature range from -45ºC to +135ºC. The 6384ED PMIC gate driver is well-suited for use in a wide range of automotive and industrial applications such as control systems, motor drives and LED control.
