The L6386D is a monolithic high-side and low-side driver, compatible with bootstrap voltage sources, ideal for automotive and industrial applications. It is suitable for controlling inductive or resistive loads of up to 2 A in continuous mode or up to 15 A in peak mode, and is designed to be low in current consumption and resistant to ESD and transient protection.

The L6386D\'s working principle is based on the H-bridge circuit structure, which consists of four switches connected between two power sources in a cross pattern. When the input signals are both low, the bridge is open and no current flows through the switches. When both input signals are high, the bridge is closed and current flows through it.
The high- and low-side enable signals control the state of the bridge. When the HSE signal is high and the LSE signal is low, only the high-side switch is open, allowing current to flow through the low-side switch. Similarly, when the LSE signal is high and the HSE signal is low, only the low-side switch is opened. This allows the current to flow through the high-side switch.
The L6386D is designed to control inductive and resistive loads with high power dissipation, while providing ESD and transient protection.
