The LM5026MTX is an advanced, monolithic, energy-efficient single-supply DC to DC switching controller from Texas Instruments. It is part of the company’s portfolio of products for DC to DC power conversion, which includes controllers, fully integrated synchronous and asynchronous buck controllers, and linear regulators. The LM5026MTX is a high-performance DC-DC switching controller with a wide input voltage range from 5 V to 75 V. It offers maximum efficiency, precise control of the output voltage, ease of use and safety features. By combining the adjustable slope compensation, it provides excellent transient response with a wide choice of load and line conditions.

The LM5026MTX can be used in a variety of applications, including systems that require multiple outputs, wide dynamic voltage scaling and remote synchronization. The LM5026MTX is a complete, high-performance DC-DC controller that offers high efficiency, precise control of the output voltage, and a wide range of protection mechanisms. It includes an adjustable-slope compensation network and can provide precise control of the output voltage up to 25 V. The design also includes a high-efficiency power switch with low-frequency operation, an output over-voltage protection circuit, an output over-current and over-temperature protection circuit, and a negative voltage generator.  In addition, the controller includes a low-power sleep mode feature to reduce power consumption.

The LM5026MTX features a wide input voltage range and adjustable output voltage. It can operate with a switching frequency up to 1 MHz to drive high speed loads, as well as a low frequency operation up to 130 kHz for efficient power conversion applications. Additionally, the controller can be synchronized to reduce interference with other circuits. Its built-in compensation network offers excellent transient response with a wide choice of load and line conditions, while its pre-bias start-up circuitry enables it to start up and operate successfully at extremely low input voltages.
