LM5101ASDX

The LM5101ASDX is a high-current gate driver that enables designers to move to higher current and higher voltage operating points. It belongs to the family of PMIC - Gate Drivers, and is designed to drive the gate switches of modern MOSFET technology.

The LM5101ASDX offers a 600 V operating voltage, with output current up to 5A. It also features an adjustable switching frequency up to 700kHz, for higher efficiency, and a dead time adjustment of up to 0.3 μs to prevent shoot-through.

The LM5101ASDX also features an ultra-low Ron internal supply switch, allowing low-power solution designs with higher efficiency and minimal power losses. The low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator provides accurate voltage regulation of the internal operating voltage, extending the life of the device.

LM5101ASDX also has an on-chip bootstrap operation, which allows it to use an external capacitor to provide the voltage boost required to turn on high-side switches without the need for a dedicated IC. The output of the LM5101ASDX can be used to drive both logic-level (3.3V or 5V) and bootstrapped gate voltage (15V to 30V) with no additional circuitry.

The LM5101ASDX has a typical 0.84V voltage drop under light load conditions, making it ideal for low-power applications. Its 0.2A current limit and soft RF switching profile improve system efficiency and provide smooth transitioning between light and high load conditions.

The LM5101ASDX can be used in either a high-side or a low-side configuration, allowing systems to use different kinds of gate driver for different kinds of load. It is also protected against short circuits and overheating and has a typical frequency bandwidth up to 500MHz, making it suitable for high-speed applications as well.
