The LM5101SD/NOPB is a monolithic, gate drive IC (Integrated Circuit) specifically designed for driving external N-channel MOSFETs (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors) in synchronous buck and other DC-DC converter applications. The device combines an onboard low-impedance, 2.3 A gate driver with all the necessary protections, like current-limit, thermal shutdown, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO).

The LM5101SD/NOPB is part of Texas Instruments\' (TI) PMIC (Power Management ICs) family of Gate Drivers. Its main application field is synchronous buck converters with input voltage ranges from 4 V to 25 V and output wattages from 2 W to 50 W, and it can also be used for other power-conversion applications with moderate switching frequencies. The device operates over an extended temperature range of -40°C to 125°C and is available in a small SO-8 package with an exposed pad. With fewer components, it greatly reduces the size of a given converter and has a low gate drive output resistance.
