Common Mode Chokes are high performance three-phase power line filters for use in motor and switched mode power supplies. The RN143-6-02 common mode chock is designed to reduce common-mode-noise resulting from high-frequency interference caused by capacitive or inductive circuits on a multi-phase power system. The RN143-6-02 ensures interference-free operation of high-end applications, such as Critical Industrial Goods (CIG). The common mode choke is built using three distinct components; an inductor for each phase, a transfer plate, and a case. The inductor coils are wound using very thin copper wire can range in size from 1.18 mm to 0.56 mm.
The RN143-6-02 has been designed to offer solutions for the most critical applications, such as those requiring power of over 6KW. This model supports seven voltage range modes for applications in a wide voltage range, from 485v to 6.6Kv. Additionally, this model has been designed with a maximum rated core temperature of up to 125°C. It\'s design is lightweight and compact, measuring approximately 4.5”L x 2.9”W x 0.9”D.
The working principle of the RN143-6-02 is based on the Faraday Cage effect. This effect is created when an electrical current is passed through a wire coil comprising of several turns. As the power passes through the coil, the alternating current induces an alternating magnetic field around the coil. This alternating field induces an opposing voltage back against the current, thus creating a Faraday Cage. This Faraday Cage will act to suppress high frequency interference and noise.
