TNY267P is a family of low-power AC/DC, offline switching controllers and it is one of the most popular AC/DC converters, offline switchers available today. This device is suitable for a wide range of applications like consumer, energy, communications, and industrial sectors.
The TNY267P family of ICs provide the advantages of low-cost, low power, small physical size, and enhanced electrical performances. It is a highly integrated power IC solution having an advanced, low standby power offline controller with all of the system power and control functions, an overload protector, accurate peak current limit and soft-start. It is offered in a 7-pin TO-252 package enabling a compact solution.
TNY267P process design enables the supply of low-power solutions due to its optimized on-chip circuitry. Its soft-start capability minimizes the switching inrush current, which is not achievable with the use of mechanical ballasts. The internal brown-out function prevents the unintentional restart of the source during the drop-off or short-term mains sag.
The TNY267P family of ICs use primary-side regulated (PSR) technology to drive power FETs and extends the application area of Run-down Regulator technique. It has high precision constant frequency current-mode control without optocoupler to enable high efficiency and low noise operation, and for voltage control. Additionally, remote control over AC/DC power supply can be done using PSR technology with a remote on/off command.
The TNY267P family of ICs is designed to provide a complete solution for low-voltage, low-power high-efficiency AC/DC and offline switcher applications. It simplifies the design of flyback power supply designs with active PFC by replacing the entire front-end with a single IC. The TNY267P also provides improved transient response, lower EMI emission and an increased power factor in such application.
The TNY267P family of ICs features an advanced control technology working with external FETs to provide high efficiency, stability, and accuracy. It regulates the output voltage according to the internal voltage reference and uses a low current, but high voltage error amplifier. Its internal multiplier detects peak current and uses its difference of the voltage feedback to produce the pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal.
The TNY267P family of ICs offer good quality in terms of standby power, line regulation, load regulation and power conversion efficiency. It ensures operation in continuous conduction mode (CCM) through its fixed frequency system. It also offer high peak current phase-shift margin without exceeding the maximum junction temperature.
