The TNY268GN-TL is a fast-on-time, high-performance off-line switcher with an integrated 700 V power MOSFET. It’s particularly well-suited for applications such as highly efficient standby power supply and low power AC/DC adapter.
The TNY268GN-TL exploits a Green-mode operation, which allows it to reduce the power consumption and maintain the standby power loss under 60 mW. Working Principle
The TNY268GN-TLoff-line switcher features an integrated 700V power MOSFET and a fast-on-time performance. Moreover, the Internal power MOSFET covers the wide range of operation from 2V to 700V, allowing the TNY268GN-TL to operate under high input voltage.
The device has a wide acceptance range of 85Vac to 277Vac and its very low start-up current range is between 500μA and 1mA. Furthermore, the TNY268GN-TL has constant voltage/constant current regulated outputs, which allows it to be used for lots of applications. The internal temperature protection feature is essential for the device to optimize the working performance under downstream conditions.
The device also features excellent protection against input overvoltage, output overvoltage, overcurrent protection, undervoltage protection, and over temperature protection (which can be enabled/disabled via a simple logic signal). The logic signal is detected by a low-current comparator circuit and is triggered based on the over-temperature current set by the user.
The adaptive on-time control feature of the TNY268GN-TL is designed to ensure that the output voltage remains in the set range even when the input voltage fluctuates. It utilizes an active frequency folding technique to ensure that the switching frequency remains constant, regardless of the load. This helps reduce the EMI and improves the efficiency of the system.
