Working Principle of the TSM101ACD When the input voltage is within the specified range, it is then supplied to the TSM101ACD. The device then senses the presence of an adapter through its adapter detect pin and starts the charging process. If an adapter is detected, the ACOK signal is asserted to indicate the presence of the adapter and its availability.Once charging is enabled, the TSM101ACD regulates the current and voltage of the battery by the use of a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal on the PG pin. This pin outputs a PWM signal to the adapter, which increases and decreases the charging current and voltage supplied to the battery. The TSM101ACD also features an internal linear LED driver, which allows users to regulate the current supplied to LEDs connected to the controller. This ensures that the LEDs are supplied with a stable current, preventing the LEDs from being damaged by sudden spikes in current. Once the battery has reached its target voltage and current, charging is stopped and the TSM101ACD asserts the battery good signal, ACOK, to indicate the completion of the charging process.
